Default CAI for an 08 4.7

Ok guys...revisiting a subject/question from a week or so ago.

I'm looking into a CAI for my 08 and I'm having a hard time finding out if the current versions (K&N 63-1546 or Airaid 300-175) will fit the new intake configuration on an 08 4.7. I want to get one bad, but the top end of this engine is a totally different beast than what I had in my 05 so I don't want to spend the money to find it won't fit. It's hard to tell from the pics but there's a 'snorkel' that comes up the back of the intake to the TB at the rear of the air plenum. It's not like the 05 where the intake tube from the CAI went all the way to the back of the intake where the TB was mounted.

Someone replied to an earlier thread a week or two ago that they put the K&N on their 08 and it fit, but I want more than one person telling me it will work before I drop the coin. (No offense to whoever said that).

Here's a pic Frenchy...

Thanks guys.

well, i just looked under my hood and the intake part will fit. the heat shield i dont think will. i noticed on your truck that the ac compressor and alternator are moved over to the left. mine are directly to the left and right of the fan shroud.or should i say in the middle. seems like the heat shield well get in the way of the ac lines.

Racin I think you are golden, look at my photos, they are practically the same as yours. Like super said the locations are moved alittle but the lines look like they end about the same area. See for your self...

Thumbs down

well bad news, for me anyway. tried to install it and almost finished then realized that the reducer coupling from the intake tube to the throttlebody is about 3/4" bigger than the throttle body. it wouldn't go on without having wrinkles/folds in the pipe which is not what i paid $300 for so it's going back and i'll stay stock for now, need the money for school anyway. your mileage may vary but that is my experience.

upon further inspection, the throttle body on my 08 is a different beast then any of the ones i've seen in pictures of previous models. the rest of the kit seemed fine so you could probably get a different reducer and be fine but like i said, i didn't pay that much money for something i have to customize anyway.

Ugh. I bought a used one from a member here but haven't had a chance yet to try to install it on my 08. Looks like I'm just going to get pissed off when I try...

Just B/S info to pass on...was at the local "Stealership" yesterday and asked the Service Manager about CAI. According to him, it voids the engine and pollution system parts of your warranty. Just passing that along for what it's worth.
