OK, so last night I tried resetting the trucks computer. I was talking to Billy and he said leave the positive battery cable unattached overnight.

I decided to do this because since i installed the TB, the engine revs itself at idle to about 1200 rpm, also i didnt really reset it when my CAI or exhaust were installed either.

I put the battery cable back but it still rev's itself, whats that other way of resetting, with like the 3 turns of the key or something? idk

since I swapped my TB for the Fastman TB my throttle has never been the same.
I followed the directions exactly and even tried to reset the idle sensor. Once I swapped the plugs for the Autolites the idle got a little better, but it's still all over the place.

You need to disconnect connect the negative from the battery to reset the PCM. Not the positive.

I was having intermittent idle problems after I put my new TB on. Reset the PCM several times and it didn't fix it. After doing a lot of research on idle problems, I replaced the TPS and haven't had a problem since.

disconnect the negative cable. turn and hold key to the start position for 20 seconds. recoonect the negative cable. start and stop truck three times. on the thrid time leave truck running for about 5 minutes so it will relearn the new paramiters. then take it for a drive. if the truck still goes up and down in idle or neutral, you need to adjust the switch. loosen up switch and you will see it moves slightly up or down. move it all the way. it should stop the crazy idle

snipingdude (9:36:09 PM): hey how do i restart my computer on my truck?
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:36:53 PM): Pull the battery cables off for 20-30 minutes
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:36:59 PM): or over night if ya want
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:37:12 PM): That way you are positive you waited long enough
snipingdude (9:41:56 PM): i dont have to take them off in a certain order right?
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:42:12 PM): No
snipingdude (9:42:17 PM): kk
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:42:18 PM): Nope not att all
snipingdude (9:42:25 PM): sry dude im not good with electricty
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:42:55 PM): hehe its col
snipingdude (9:43:11 PM): cause i dont think im getting my TB used right
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:43:23 PM): Probably not if you never reset it
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:43:26 PM): Same wth the intake
snipingdude (9:43:44 PM): cause since i installed it whenever im in park my engine revs to like 1200 every 2 seconds
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:44:08 PM): sounds like I would start with a reset
snipingdude (9:44:16 PM): so i guess the cpu thinks its still the same amount of air that was coming in before correct?? therefore im not getting the power i wanted
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:46:19 PM): Yeah
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:46:26 PM): the parameters are messed up
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:46:35 PM): Causing it to read out of the ranges
snipingdude (9:46:55 PM): ahh ok thats why my 0-60 feels like its 10 sec
LgHtNg bLt 02 (9:47:22 PM): haha

Remove positive cable from battery

Take end of cable you just removed and touch it to ground (metal part of frame, etc) for maybe 15 seconds

Hook cable back up to battery

Get in truck

Turn on key

Depress throttle to floor and release

Repeat 2x's

Turn off key

Now just start like you normally would

This procedure is called "A field dump".

There is no need to go thru the- disconnect this, scratch *****, turn key, bark at the moon, etc etc. All a waste.
