The Auburn is pretty well liked by the Ram crowd I think. Maybe not as rugged in the long term as a Detroit with the worm gear drive.

For another 100.00 you can get the Detroit True Trac. No clutches to wear out, so no lsd additive. When I did my gear upgrade I wanted to upgrade the lsd too, the stock Danas are pretty iffy and a lot of people have had c-clip failures with them. The Auburns are good too and a lot of people have them and like them but I just liked the idea of clutch less.

I have a friend with a True Trac in a Ram. He loves it. The helical gear design is cool as $h!t. It is definitely a braggin rights piece. I'd save a few more bones and go for it. You can probably do it yourself and save the $200.

Wow thats kinda quoteable... I figured Jess tought you everything

ahh dont sweat it man, if he can do the labor for 200 I would let him do it. I think the hardest part would be shimming it and adjusting. I would also go with the Detroit... some of my jeep buddies praise it

Consider that differential your trucks new set of *****...and throw away the ones that hang from your hitch. You guys all seem pretty cool and intelligent. Please don't ever let me see another picture of hitch *****, they are worse than product stickers
