big problems
nope i have a second opinion goin there tomorrow.. hopefully things can get worked out... ive read alot of about them too and this wasnt like a spur of the moment thing.. i did alot of research on this pully and everyone said it was well worth it.... i dont see how this has anything to do with the chain it really doesnt..... ive had the pully for over a month and to be honest how the hell wouldnt it have broken it that month.. i did alot of test runs with it.. no problems then.. i think theres a screw loose in the dealers brain!
Second off, that's awesome :-P
Now about Badass's Dak, that blows, hopefully your second opinion works out, but you only had it on for a month before this happened? I mean if the UP was out of timing it could have worn on the crank until it broke, or it could have been knocked out of timing somehow and broke the crank when it did causing all the subsequent probs... Anyway Hopefully it all works out for you
heres the info i got from my buddy

It seems that the crank bolt needs to be removed for the UD pulley to go on. No big deal, right. Here's the rub. The flange on the new pulley is thinner than the stock pulley. So, when the crank bolt was re-tightened, it bottomed in the crank without drawing the damper all the way down. As a result the pulley and damper have been wobbling on the end of the crank for about a month. The wobble busted the keyway out of the crank timing gear and blammo. The timing chain and top gear look to be fine. The bottom gear is hosed and the end of the crank was scored up a bit. The crank snout has been sanded down and looks to be ok now, but you can definitely tell it was chewed up a bit. My buddies @ the dealer are going to try and get a partial warranty/deductable deal approved for Joe. So, that he doesn't have to eat the whole cost. Moral of the story, UD pullies on the 4.7 are a nono, or at least, jam a couple of big washers under the crank bolt, before you tighten everything down. That will keep the bolt from bottoming before the damper is tight. I've always though that UD pullies were not worth the effort, due to the meager HP gains vs. the charging problems they can cause. Now here's another reason that they're a BS mod. It remains to be seen whether the valves hit the pistons, but the 4.7 is an interference motor. We'll know more on monday when they put it back together and try to start it. Hopefully things go in Joe's favor, and nothing hit. More to follow....."
now im getting asp involved they said they will pay for any damage to the truck if the there were missing parts... more to come on this situation!

Damn! So that UD pulley kit doesn't come with proper hardware? The fit must be awfully close, or else the pulley would be noticably loose when the bolt couldn't be turned any more.
And the 4.7 *is* an intereference design?
