Default Wiring lights into the cargo lamps?

I'm getting some lights for my box and I want to tie them into my cargo lights,

is there a easy way to wire this up under the hood? rather that running wires from the cargo lights themselves which will make it hard to hide the wiring. or can I tie it into the on-off button itself?

any suggestions would be awesome!

This probably doesnt help you but this is just something ive done.

I have some lights behind my grill that work off the Cargo light switch..

I cut the connection to the cargo light and used that wire as a power source going to my relay switch for the lights.

I then spliced the grill lights wire and put an on/offswitch going back to the cargo light..

So my cargo light button in the front controls both the lights, but only the front grill lights when the on/off switch is off.

I have a mitsubishi raider but it should be the same...

this is the best i can explain how ive done it.

In your truck you should have 2 Hanger holders or w.e.. if you remove them by jus pulling them out you should able to see under the top cover of your interior.. now unscrew the cargo light and you should see some holes that will be more then enough room to push wire through.. on the other side of those holes is inside the truck under the interior cover.

Once i had the wire inside the truck ive ran it along the edge of the window etc behind the seatbelt holder cover all the way to the bottom.. then the wire comes out next to the driver rear seat.. from there you can do w.e u want with the wire. If you want ill go find the color of the wire i tapped into tommorrow when i get a chance.

I understand how you've done it now, down side is I have to run the wire to the front on the truck and then all the way back under the truck to the box to keep the wire hidden. Might look at doing that this week, my lights should be here today or tomorrow.

I have also ran a wire to the front for my behind grill lights, thats my main purpose of the switch right now.

I Ran the wire through the engine bay to right underneath the drivers door, then broughr the wire in (about 1" of wire is visible when the door is open), and ran it under the sidesteps or w.e inside the vehical to behind my rear passenger seat.

What kind of lights are you doing?

Putting LED lights in the box of the truck under my tonneau cover, to light it up at night so I can see what I'm doing.
I may have to just go on a separete switch which would be the easier way to go. as I already have wires running to the box from the engine, I just have to Run the wires into the cab for the switch!

hummm just a thought. If you have the wires from the engine to under the tonneau, way not just mount a switch under the tonneau?? since that is where you will be when you need to turn them on.
