prior to the merger with fiat and the bankruptcy, chrysler indeed was involved in a deal with nissan to produce the next generation titan. nissan figured out that their trucks were trash so they gave up.

I think it is best to let the Dak go and start fresh. My 06 is easily the worst truck I have ever owned, over 2000 dollars in repairs and I am only at 65k miles. The second gen was very successful but the third gens have not been. With Fiat involved my guess is the Dak is done for awhile. Now I have to trade mine in but can't decide between a Frontier or a Jeep :-)
if they still go through with it. i dont think that dodge would back out of any deals that bring them in money, but i dont know what the status of that project is since the merger and such.
also, i dont know that ALL nissan trucks are trash. i know that they make some good cars, but the titan was junk...in the history of the pickup truck, the titan was the "ice ice baby". it seemed cool to some people at the time, but looking back everything about it was lame as hell.
The Titan was named comparo winner twice by Popular Mechanics. Nissan has ceased production of the Titan, Quest, Armada, and QX SUV because of slow sales. I think the Canton MS factory has converted to only Altima production, now.
