Default How much can we handle in our 4.7

This is mainly for blown or superdak and anyone who knows more than I do lol...

But im seriously thinking about purchasing a single turbo kit from STS and having Kaspers Korner racing here in New Jersey have it installed and possibly getting a tune from Hemifever...

But before all of that how much boost can our engines take or should I say safely handle if any? Blown Im not sure but your internals arent forged yet right? Because I know thats one thing Id love and have to do...
Thats why im looking at a low boost pressure for now. Maybe just like 5-6lbs?? Idk aren't you running 14 blown?

Idk im just looking to know I guess lol...thanks to anyone for their help

it has some thing to do with the stock internals, but what mainly fails on these motors for boost, is a head gasket. thay make a thicker one that can with stand all the extra air, if you want to build a rotating assembly, get good stuff

The HO engine has forged internals or race type upgrades. I don't remember all the specs but go to the Allpar site and it tells you there the difference internal parts the HO has then the magnum engine. Even the barring webb plate and cam shaft lift and material grade is different. I guess the HO would hold up better for higher boost or for than mater any boost compared.

Richie is running a 3" pulley and regularly hitting 16psi of boost. He is in the process of forging his internals now.

I'm running a 3.25" pulley and I hit 14psi on stock internals. With that said, I have SCT and split second controllers. I can monitor my knock alarm. I honestly don't recommend anything higher than 10psi on a stock engine. My timing has been retarded four degrees to accomodate the boost.

They key to boost is good tuning. Ensure who ever writes your tunes knows the 4.7L. Good luck with it brother.

I was planning a 4.7L swap with Stage 2 tranny from AIR RAM, I was gonna go with an 06 4.7L with the 08 Intake manifold, 70mm TB, H.O cams from ait ram, JBA Headers, Custom 3'' single exhaust with 2.5'' y-pipe, forged piston, forges rods, ARP bolts, Limited slip diff, Gear (unsure), and either 150 shot of nitrous or 16-20PSI of boost from Paxton Supercharger or a Custom STS turbo kits
