Agreed... Could also be a bad fan clutch or electronics failing to engage the fan properly.

well this weekend im going to install a new stat and do a system flush, i bought the haynes repair manual for help with this, also i opened the radiator and it looked like muddy water, does anyone know what causes this? also im going to install new spark plugs, what brand should i get??

no it doesnt look or feel oily, this is gonna sound like a dumb question but how often should the system be flushed? i got an 06 with 51,000 miles

yesterday i did a coolant flush, added a new factory spec thermostat, took it out on the highway at 75 mps with ac on and it again got hotter than it should

I would say that it's time to check the water pump or take it to someone who can. Your fan could be the culprit also. Has the truck ever been apart that you know of? I once bought a trans am from a guy that i flipped. The guy sold it for almost nothing because he couldn't drive it anywhere because it always overheated. I took it home and was going to go through the engine and see if I could find the culprit and it turns out that the fan was on backwards and was drawing air away from the rad instead of cooling it.

no its never been apart i bought it brand new, i looked under the hood and i didnt notice the usual spray from the water leaking through the seep hole so i dunno

I have to ask this but did you bleed the cooling system properly? if not then that will cause an over heating condition due to an air lock in the system. I recommend running the truck with the front end jacked up a bit and the cap off...you may have to rev it up as these trucks normally run cool at idle. once there is no more air bubbles coming to the top of the rad top it off throw the cap on and take it for a tear.
