Default engine wont turn over

so all of a sudden I'm having trouble starting my engine. It worked fine last night then this morning it wont want to start. So when I turn the key the engine trys to turn over but it seems to get stuck, so it moves a little then stops, then moves a little more. I thought it could have been the starter but I took it off and had it checked out and it works fine. So what I'm think is it might be one of the accessorys that is seizing up. What I want to do is take off the belt and turn over the engine to see if it turns over easy, but I dont know if that will harm the engine. any advice, anyone ever have this problem?

even if your battery has enough juice to power a blower motor, headlights, or radio, doesnt mean it will have enough to crank over an engine. try using jumper cables...bet ya it will crank faster

Yea sounds like the battery is dead but still has enough juice to power accessories. You need cranking amps to get the truck started.

Oh, and double check your connections on the battery terminal. Mine wasnt turning over and the negative terminal had become loose. Worth a look.

Default Do you get a rapid clicking from the starter when it wont start?

Mine is/was doing the same thing all of a sudden. Headlights were strong, radio fine, even ran the windows up and down a couple times. Also cranked the engine multiple times before I drained the battery real good.

Mine jumped, but only when I completely disconnected the battery from my truck. It wouldn't jump start by just placing the cables post to post from the other vehicle.

Since then I have completely cleaned both ends and also taken the battery out and trickle charged it over night. Its held on for another 5 days, but I'm thinking the battery is on its last legs.

I had a battery strong enough to run lights, radio, everything. But the starter would barely engage and wouldn't crank. Had to jump it, and it fired right up.
