Default Night raider build thread!!!!!!

hoookay first things first i own a 07 mitsubishi raider its my daily driver 3.7 v6 6-speed tranny 2wd, 8.25 rear end with open diff. blah blah blah

ok just like everyone who owns a dak with a 3.7 there alright and kinda fun to drive but lets be realistic.... 200 hp at the rear wheels on a cold day haha

so striving for something absolutly a blast to drive I started doing research awhile ago and the biggest motor that uses the same bellhousing and similar placement on the motor mounts is the 5.7 HEMI! hell yaa

So my plans for this winter are to first buy a 5.7 hemi put on my engine stand give it a once over prolly put performance headers and a comp cams XFI cam. port/polish& mill the heads. get all of the wiring harnesses and everything sorted out streight so i wont have much down time on the actual d-day.

So hows this sound to all you guys out there?
and if theres a similar thread out there please point me in that direction.

Thanks in advance,
Marten

200hp at the rear wheels is where I stopped reading.

I have a v8 and I put down 197rwhp stock, I bet you're more like, 160 - 170.

Welcome to DF Marten! Dont mind Frenchy his an asshat! As a matter of fact there is one that comes to mind. Dusty has completed the hemi swap in his Dakota and its pretty insane. Heres an earlier thread about it, https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...mi-dakota.html Good luck and I would like to see ya go for it, especially for a Raider Keep us updated!

Dont be such an *** to the new members! Alot of people dont understand that the listed HP is at the crank and not the wheels. Remember you dont know all...just like the rest of us.

sounds like fun!!! you will really beable to fry that one tire with the open diff, sounds like another good excuse to upgrade the rear, bigger, or at least an LSD

After reading dusty's writeup on it, I would say sell your Raider and buy a truck w/ the hemi in it already, haha! Seriously though, it looks like quite a bit of work with the wiring harnesses and everything. Also, I'm not sure about that 8.25 rear end being a great option for a hemi. I would think the 9.25 axle would be better suited for that kind of power.

Nonetheless, if you do go ahead with it, I will be interested to see how it goes!

If you want an absolute blast to drive, go buy a used 350Z.

I admire Dusty for actually doing it.....but it's really just crazy talk.

If you must have a fun truck, go buy a 4.7 V8 Dakota and stuff it full of goodies.

the 350Z's aren't THAT much of a blast.

My friend has had a 350Z and a 300awhp WRX.

I'll to tell you which was more of a blast to drive, and it wasn't the Z.
