Could the noise be from the radio? Does it have an aftermarket radio? If so, there could be a ground loop issue that you are hearing through the speakers.

sorry been busy with work, noise has kinda gone away with a fuel switch from shell to a top teir(kwiktrip), changed to amsoil in the crankcase and seeing better mileage, i'll be doing all the other fluids in amsoil soon. the wire connector under my seat was piched to the hump in the floor, my ol' lady did that movin the seat up drivin my drunk *** home. can any one help me with what trans, and rear diff i have. so i can order fluid. thanks again josh. by the way that blown dak is sweet, faster than the '99 r/t i had, probably alot faster.

I too get the howl or wine, but my engine only seems to do this under heavy accel, and as I let off the gas it fades out, this sound comes and goes on my truck, so trying to get the dealership to listen might be a problem, i'd have to record or when I notice the noise get to the dealer and take my guy for a ride and hope the engine will do it again.

it's been doing this forever, doesn't seem to affect anything, but it sure don't sound healthy. ??

Your truck will have the 9.25 rear end, and the 545RFE tranny. Email your vin to Chrysler or stop into any dealership and they can give you a full sheet of all the options that came with your truck. Rather neat to see.

75w-90 1.66L in the front. 75w-140 2.13L in the rear, (for the 9.25"). Or since the bottles don't come in correct sizes, and that you don't have a measuring cup dedicated to your truck, when you fill the differential case the fluid will come up to just under the fill hole. The tranny service fill is 6.2L, overhaul fill is 13.33L.

What was the Amsoil fuel mileage difference? Are you talking like 0.3 MPG or something?

The above post is assuming you shift on the tree not the floor.

Maybe it's some sort of vacuum leak on the air intake?
