Smile Input on Polishing scratches and scuffs

I have a few nice scratches and scuffs on the driver side of my box, I've tried "Nu-Finish Scratch Doctor" by hand but it didn't make any difference so I'll have to go at it with a power polisher I guess.

Any suggestions on what polish brand works well for the paint,
Also any other tips and tricks you might have that will help would be great. This will be the first time I've done this.

I plan on using an orbital polisher I guess, any other item I might need.

Thanks.
Not looking to do a cut polish, just some way to get some of the more more noticable scratches out, if possible.

Something like this I guess,

Just call on the great spirit of Billy May's and his "Fix It! Scratch Remover" and all will be well.

I had some fine scratches on my hood and did the following:
1. Hand washed twice with car wash and mitt.
2. Used "Kit" scratch remover,( 2 applications) Don't remember either PepBoys or Auto Zone
3. Waxed with a good quality wax and she looked like new.

READ BELOW AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
If you have scuffs or paint transfer that does not seem to come off, I have used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It is a firm white sponge with embedded alkaline properties. YOU MUST PRE-RINSE THE SPONGE AT LEAST TWICE BEFORE YOU USE IT. Use fresh water each time. This dilutes the intensity. Otherwise they are strong enough to remove YOUR trucks clear coat and paint. I recommend wearing rubber gloves. I've done this successfully (twice) on a friends Mazda CX-7. The worst was when he side swiped a yellow concrete parking lot barrier. Popped the dents out with a heat gun, follwed by a CO2 can. Then used the Magic Eraser. Lots of water and light rubbing. Worked like a charm.

An orbital buffer is no better than doing it by hand, just easier. A DA would be much better
