What i meant was if i just put the gearz from the 02 diff in my front diff. and dont switch out the back and then make them 4.10 gearing would that work. If that makes sence

No, you get front and back aftermarket 4.10 gears from Randys ring and pinion, on that website there are gears for the 8" fronts and the 9.25 rear. All you need from the 02 diff. is the HOUSING, not the gears inside it. those won't be 4.10 anyway. see?

Otherwise it is just a PIA for us.
Ok, I understand what you're saying. I wasn't sure that if the spiral changed the shaft would too...thanks for clarifying.

this really throws a wrench in my plans. so the gearing on a 4x4 is basically impossible to do from what im reading. since we cant do 4.10s without junk yard parts is it worth it to throw the 3.92s in? and the ram does not use our reverse rotation or something correct?

Trucky are you sure the Ram doesn't use the same reverse rotation? Economically it doesn't make sense for them to switch the Dakota and not the Ram, the more parts they can manufacture in common the more cost savings they get through economies of scale.

That is exactly what i was thinking. The more parts they can reuse the more money they save. I hope the ram gears somehow work i was hoping the 4.10's would be the awnser to v6 blues

The guy I called asked that for me I believe, I really don't have an answer right now. I would think out of all the companies I contacted about my problem would have mentioned it if it were that easy. I will call him back tomorrow and ask, as well as post on the ram section. We will clear this up, but don't rasie your hopes because SuperDak05 has front and rear gears only because he got a custom job.

From what I've been able to find the 4.7l Rams use the same C205F front axle we do, just can't seem to find any info on whether they have that reverse rotation or not too.
