IMO, if I were to be spending the money to get 2 axles done it would be to 4.10 gears. You have to figure youll be spending about $1200 give or take if you take it to a shop, and it would suck to have wished to go to 4.10 gears if youre not happy with 3.92s. If you tow and or you dont need the fuel economy and want the torque, Id make the 4.10s work. Now if you can do the work yourself, you can wait for a set of used 3.92 gears to pop up and then it would be worth it because the gears dont go for that much used. Just my .02

So, just an update on my quest for 4.10 or 4.11 gears. There is a new mechanic in town who is a family friend. He is a certified dodge mechanic who just opened up his own shop and we have been working on this for a while. Apperantly he has been in touch with Napa's tech department and they say there are indeed gears for our trucks. I have ordered them, don't know what kind of gears, don't know part #'s or anything but when I do and if they fit I will let you guys know as soon as I know. Just so you know $'s wise, my cost on the gears only from my mechanic who is going to do the install is $700 rear set with posi and $400 for the front set. Then I will still have to pay for install. I am thinking in the $2000.00 range Canadian funds installed. That won't be to far out of line as Superdak's price was $1600 or so. I will keep you informed this next week to see how the install goes.

Now I feel like a dog chasing it's tail. You end right back where you start. No go on the gears again. 4.56's anyone?

I don't think you can fit those in the front.

That is a very true statement. The real question is Why? is it so hard to find anything for our trucks. I'm sure you know that better than any of us.

Yes Sir, I understand completely. The aftermarket took a dump on the G3 Dakota. The G2 Dakotas got alot of aftermarket support, especially for the 5.9L/360. Anything we want has to be custom, fabricated or made for an appliations similiar to ours.

I hear you brother and even I will admit it gets old. Everything we find is usually 2-3 times higher in cost than everyone else. I honestly think if Dodge would have made a performance Dakota with a Hemi we would be getting mad support like the 5.9 RT has.
