What about combining the Flashpaq with this product from Airram.com? http://www.airram.com/product.php?ca...9&productid=21 Its a wire that goes between the air temp sensor in the intake and the computer that makes the computer read a temp 20 degrees lower than what it is. This would increase power by a claimed ~10rwhp. Another thing to note is it only makes the computer read a temp 20 degrees less under full throttle, because at all other throttle positions the air/fuel mixture is the same. It will make the engine run richer under full throttle. Any thoughts?

Didn't you have your PCM flashed by KRC prior to that though? I thought that was why the Superchips choked on it?

Also they've been asked about it in various threads on the SC forums and Ron didn't recommend running the powerwire or the resistors in the Transgo kit that up the line pressure with the SC tuner. The power wire tricks your PCM into thinking the intake air is cooler than it is so it will be more aggressive with the timing, the Superchips tunes are written assuming that you're starting off with stock timings before the tune. Earlier you asked how the SC firms up the shifts, their tune increases the line pressure to the trans which is effectively what the resistors that come with the Transgo kit do.

Would it be best to have my truck flashed by the Dodge dealer before I reprogram? How much would that cost @ the dealer about?

If your truck is stock you shouldn't have any problem. I use a 3865 on my 2005 4.7 and I love it, it does make a noticeable difference. Just ask Bolt, he was on the fence about the tuner when we were at the Carlisle show, I let him ride shotgun to see how much of a difference it made on mine and he bought one the same day.

Thanks for your input Altair. I think Ill buy one from Autozone. I could get one $40 cheaper through autoanything, but if for some reason it doesnt work out I will just return it to the store. The $40 will be an insurance policy, and worth not going through the hassel of returning something that I bought online if it doesnt work out.

Thanks brother. I can assure (as Rich has said) you will love the Superchips. I loved mine, it just couldn't support the supercharger. I have never really messed with shift kids (like transgo). I'm doing a tranny valve body and yes, that requires getting into the tranny.

Im definetly going to do a Superchips Cortex. Ill order it sometime this week and lets hope all goes well.
Before I mess with the trans, Im going to wait to see what exactly the programmer does. I know airram.com has a stage 2 or stage 3 valve body for $325. Stage 2 is one step above a shift kit and stage 3 is for racing. Ill go to my local trans shop soon to see what they would be willing to install for a reasonable price. Are things like shift kits and valve bodies reversable?
