Fram catalog listed PH2 and PH16. There was a footnote regarding thread type. But yeah, it doesn't make sense. May be I should look again. With all these $19.99 oil changes around, there is certainly no cost advantage in doing your oil change anymore.

 

If you really want to do some reading on oil and oil filter combos, check bobistheoilguy.com .... you can do hours of reading about which filter is better than another one. The thing is most oil filters do have cardboard in them, even my K&N I believe. I just stay away from Fram for what people say about them, and I like the 1" nut on the K&N, but they are also priced at $14/filter.
