Odd squeak from drivers side rear? Bad gas mileage?
Hey guys! It's been a few weeks since I have been in here. I come asking a new question!
I have noticed that after driving my truck I will 'shake' the rear of the truck and it has a "squeak" (low pitched squeak, like an old trampoline that is rusted out a bit) that I can't place. It sound like it could be coming from the shock, leaf spring, or U-bolt. The interesting thing...It goes away after about 30 seconds of rocking the truck back and forth.
I'm not sure if it's related, but i have also noticed my gas mileage has been lower for a little over a month now too. Then best I have been able to average (all highway, 95% at least) is 16mpg per the overhead console. I even increased my tire pressure to 42 psi as opposed to my normal 38-40 in efforts to help this.
Any ideas or similar stories from any of you?

The two are not related. The squeeking is from a bad shock....or shock bushing. Could also be rear sway bar bushings, spring mount bushing, or shackle bushings.

sorry i left you guys...i moved over the weekend. got my internet back up and running now.
yeah, soon I will have a garage again (once i get the rest of the crap outta there) and be able to look around the shock/bushings/stabilizer links. The rear shocks have about 30-40,000 miles on them, so it's probably time to change them out! I will check the stabilizer first though.
I will hand calculate next fillup! Either way though, since i have been using the overhead display for a year now, and now the MPG's have gone down, I would assume that my hand calculations will have also gone down. I guess we will see where I am at next tank of gas!
