Ordered my tuner!
So, all you guys have the Superchip Cortex? And Superchip is the only chip we can get for our trucks right? I been thinking about getting one lately; I really wanna get one for my truck for a little more power, and the fact that I just put bigger wheels/tires on last week.
Thanks in advance,

I just bought the cortex and the shift points are worth the money. In terms of power, I didnt notice a huge difference from stock, but Im not willing to turn it back to stock because Im sure there will be now after I drove it for a couple weeks.
If that's the case, I'm gonna be upset. Sell something on the premise of a warranty, then use it to get the claimed gains, and that warranty goes out the window?!
Just wondering, why can't the 05-07 trucks run the 93 tune?

Ok, Are you ordered to run a specific fuel everytime you gas up with this chip?
No 93 tune is available for them for some reason. Only 87 or 91 ... or Mileage but who cares about that!
I remember reading that the warranty does cover the 91 tune, but the 93 is "high performance" and that is why they wont cover it under warranty. In a way, it makes sense because they are going to be advancing timing and spark a lot compared to stock. This is just something I recall reading online, so how accurate it is I do not know. I just wanted to give you a heads up to just keep an eye on it. I just looked through my owners manual and all the warranty information and nothing was stated about the 93 tune what so ever. In the article I read though it did state that it will prompt you with a yes/no question before voiding any warranty. You can try looking at the superchips forum for more details about it, but just make sure you read before jumping the gun and programming your truck too fast.

Yes, but you dont have to be. With programming my 2005 Dakota for performance, I can choose the 87 octane tune or the 91 octane tune. I chose the 91 tune because there will be more performance, and I fill up with 93 octane because 91 isnt available at the gas stations I go to.

I don't have a tuner, but my guess is that the knock sensors will still retard you before you do any real damage. Just remember, if you fill up with anything other than 93, you are retarded. That makes you a retard. Ok, I've had my fun.
Autozone. It was $422 after tax, which is a little overpriced. I was worried about it not working right with my truck, so I wanted to be able to return it to a store and get credited my refund right away instead of dealing with shipping and everything. On autoanything.com, you can get the cortex for 379, and MrCrash just got his for about $330 I think it said in the beginning of this thread? So just look around for a place that you want to order from. If you dont mind ordering stuff like this online with the risk that it might have to be returned due to a tuner that malfunctioned, then thats where you will find it the cheapest. Just make sure you update your tuner before plugging it in to your truck.
Mine was just under $330 shipped. I got it from truckcustomizers.com, and used a $10 off coupon code.
