Default Programmers?

I know there has been some threads on this but none have answered my questions.

Truck/engine
05 Dakota 4x4 4.7 (no mods yet)

So here my questions
1) What programmers are you guy using
2) Do they allow you to update as you add performance parts?
3) If not which one would.

Performance mods i have planned are Cold air intake, exhaust system, cams, Ported TB, Ext. (not sure what else is out there so far still looking)

So what I am looking to know is what is out there for our engines and what actually works.

Thanks in advance for the help

After a several nights of looking i came up with some more questions.
If you buy a Superchip, is that programmable? or can you you buy a Superchip and add a programmer to have both?

Superchips is a brand of programmer, or tuner. Most guys here have the basic mods such as CAI, exhaust, ect. From what I've gathered from other threads is that unless your going with headers, something greater than HO cams, or some other serious mod, you'd go with the superchips 3685. And I don't think their any advantage to combining something like a jet chip with a tuner. The tuner is far superior to the chip.

Who has the Superchip 3865 or the 3950. Is the 3950 worth the 2 year power train warranty?
Are these the only 2 on the market?

Eimer, many threads generate more responses but the tuner questions get asked about once a week. Search the forum and it should answer just about any question you have, at least regarding tuners available for the 4.7 and what they do.

i'm not tryen to be rude or anything, but he is looking for an answer, the more we tell other members to search, rather than giving an answer only causes more problems, everytime we try to search for something we have to filter through all the threads that tell some one to do a search.... see where this is giong? sorry...

anyway the 3865 is a great programmer, it doesnt have any mod specific tunes but it does to trans adjustments, and is no different from the 3950 other than the warrenty and the 3950 covers a few more vehicals, the sct and diablo do more specific tunes but i dont think they adjust the transmission

I understand what you mean, and I was being lazy too I should have linked him to the many threads there are. And this phrasing sounds better, once your questions are answered do a search and you will find answers to questions you didn't know to ask.

Thats a good price Eimer. IIRC I got one from Lopers Speed for 289, shipped. Grab it up, you won't be disappointed. I de-tuned my truck to test out my wife's Durango a couple weeks ago and can't wait to re-tune my truck again. 'You never know what you've got until its gone' holds true. Very strange that the link you gave does not show what model number the tuner is. When you call ask them if it is the Superchips Flashpaq 3865. That is the model you want as long as you aren't looking for the cortex. But that is a very odd range of years to cover, as the 3865 does a wider year range
