If you plan on major mods that require custom tuning go with SCT or Diablo Sport. If you not, go with Superchips.

Thats what I say too Blown, for the avg consumer that just wants an edge, then Superchips... if fully custom, SCT or Diablo. The chips are all basically plug in and follow the on screen commands. I know with the Superchips they have a program that you download on to your computer for updating, so you basically plug the tuner in via USB for the updates. Simplest you can get.

I am super happy with my Superchips 3865. I think its the best mod I have bought.

Well i have a k&n CAI, magnaflow cat back, Fastman TB (coming), electric fan (on the way also) and currently have a jet chip on it.

I thought about doing HO cams also. But i may not.

That said still use the superchips?

As far as just the CAI, Exhaust, TB, and Fan, Superchips is still competitive. Bumping up to cams, you might as well go with SCT or Diablo, you'll get more out of the cams. The jet chip is no comparison to the tuners. If I remember right, I believe Superchips even states best results are found with an intake and exhaust. A fan just makes it so much easier for the engine to turn... theres no clutch fan drag. The TB is just opening up the intake side, as well, increasing flow and such.

Those are not major modifications so a Superchips will work fine. Major Modifications are 206-224 Cam swaps, turbos, superchargers, nitrous, boring the cylinders .040 etc. If you plan on major mods they will require specific tuning.

Before the supercharger/alky/cams/bigger injectors I used a Superchips. The Superchips could not support these tunes so I went to SCT.

Yes, HO cams and 206 you can safely run while using a Superchips. If you go to 212, it is a must to run custom tunes. With 206 cams, you won't even feel them without a cam specific tune.

Did superchips ever give us that stock shift option they promised? I haven't checked and mine has been sitting on the shelf for some time, may put it up for sale.
