Dak Smash...with pics :(
I got into an accident on Monday. I was behind a green honda suv and he crashed into a wreck that had already occurred and since I saw no brake lights, i hit him. I saw that he had stopped for some reason but by that time it was too late.

I hope some good can be brought from this though. Any tips for myself and anyone else involved in accident; as far as dealing with insurance, adjusters, the body shop, etc.
I've informed that body shop that I want to know what they're ordering before they do so (in hopes i can find it cheaper, or replace it with something i like better). I spoke with the adjuster yesterday and it was supposed to be appraised today, but i missed his phone call. Any advice would help! Thanks all.

Ouch. Sorry to see that.
I can, as a body shop prts manager for several years, advise you to not try micro managing the repair. If you want some aftermarket parts, figure it out now. Tell them ASAP and make sure it it's available, then trust them to do their jobs.
Remember that the body shop makes money marking up the parts as well as the labor. They may not want to have you bring in your cheaper sourced parts. They also may not want to wait on multiple deliveries from various places or just for you to make up your mind. They'll want to get the truck in and out fairly quickly for several reasons.
Also, many aftermarket parts are pure junk in the fit department. We refused to install aftermarket headlights for example (though some would probably have been allowed, like some Hellas, just not ebay chinese junk).
Good luck.
