scary moment urgent!!!

Default scary moment urgent!!!

im driving down hwy16 when I loose steering trying to take the off ramp I manage to fight it over to the in side shoulder I checked I have no leaks or nothing tried. tried t turn the wheel and it loosened up ten minutes later did the same thing I topped of my fluid yesterday is it possible I put to much in. its reading over full oops.. quick fix??

nothing I can see steering seems to fine now

Five hours later its still good weird..... airpocket in the fluid line maybe??????

Check your tie-rod ends. Did you accidently put it in 4x4?

no was in 2wd what am i looking for i was on the hwy for bout 10min only it was fine while i was in the city only noticed it when i went to switch lanes to exit. felt stiff when i dried to take the exit ramp (cloverleaf kindadeal) nothing had to fight er hard to get her over to the inside shoulder thank god i was on the inside lane tried checked for leaks nothing. tried turning the wheel it eventually loosened up what would i be looking for in the tie rods nothing looks bent.. i would have a shimmy if they where bent wouldnt i???

If you loose power then you loose power steering. Check your fuses to ensure one isn't loose.

check your belt tensionor. If the belt comes loose you lose power stearing

hmmm went and check belt is tight as for the fuse I checked them a couple clicked when I pushed on them I didn't note what they where for but none seemed loose. also noted that none of the fuses are marked with power steering

When we first bought the Wife's 07 Durango, we had a similiar moement. The entire electrical system went out, power brakes steering and all were lost. It all came to down to a PCM and fuse electrical issue.
