[You have several gears setups to choose from also. The trouble with 4x4 is finding a set for the front. For gears you have 3.55, 3.92, 4.10, 4.56 etc.

how could i find out which would be the best gear set to fit into my stock housing?

if they still use the same rear ends as in the 2nd gens 8.25 and 9.25
the 8.25 will have a oval shaped diff cover
the 9.25 will have a diamond shaped diff cover

that is what i was thinking lghtnblt02, but by what abels put down, i looked and i have the oval shaped cover. which makes me wonder if that is going to change what i have thought i have had. cause i do have the towe package on my vehicle and it is 4 wheel drive. i need to get the owners manual out and read through that sucker.
