Default Painted drums and calipers

Since I was replacing my rear shocks, figured I'd paint my drums....and that meant painting the calipers as well....

I'm working on getting another grill body color and doing the gutter guard inserts.... more pics later.

I used engine paint. It's high temp but cheaper than "caliper" paint. I put like 5 coats on it along with a clear coat.

I did mine as well first time was a year ago I did about 2 coats on everything and it looked okay but the front ones didnt last that long once I got slotted rotors. So I recently painted time again. Tey still have the 2 coated of paint and I added about 5 or 6 more coates and they look great. I used about 1 can of Dupli Color Brake Paint per wheel.

I find the more paint you have the easier they are to clean and they stay glossy longer

I did the same to my corvette.

I was thinking the stock rims on the dakota just covered to much of the caliper to justify doing it, but it looks great on your tuck op. I am jealous of your rims....I want some chrome wheels for my dakota.... I was going to buy a set of chrome raider wheels off ebay to put on my dakota but they sold them already

I used duplicolor. I did the same thing on an S-10 I had several years ago, never had a problem with it pealing, flaking or anything. They always cleaned up real good. It lasted three years before I got rid of that truck. I love the 17" chrome rims, that's what sold me on this truck, besides the V-8, and the Laramie package, and the color....and just about everything else....Thanks for the comps.
