Well, its actually slipping at 5psi then climbing to 9psi. The Gatorback is a "quiet technology" belt. Next I will be replacing the Dodge OEM belt tensioner. My truck has over 100,000 miles on it so I will replace the OEM serpentine belt tensioner and see how that goes.
Blown, I picked up a can of CRC Belt Conditioner a couple days ago to add to my belt after cleaning the engine because I went mudding. It actually made the belt whine a slight amount, so I googled some reviews on it and found a supercharged forum. Guys there were using this stuff because it reduced their belt slip completly. They claimed they tried many belts and had tentioners maxed out. This conditioner allowed the belt to actually grip so the tentioner didnt have to be so tight. Google it and see what you think. I believe its like $4.00 from the auto parts store. The only downside is it can leave sticky residue on things other than the belt if youre not careful spraying it. Its not the greatest fix, but if it works its a pretty cheap solution.
We will see what happens, as I'm trying this next.

I've tried the sprays and I get one or two good runs out of them and that is all. I actually got the idea for the Dayco from the SRT8 Jeep Forums. The guys with the SRT8 Jeeps running Vortec Blowers are upgrading to to the Dayco to stop their belt slip.

Chain... thats the only way. lol
When I did the timing belt on the talon. (not fun by the way...) I used a greddy belt... From what I have read and been told, they take a lot more abuse than the good year belts. I have absolutely no idea if they make anything that would work with your blower though. I am guessing not actually, but it might be worth looking into.
A damn timing belt cost me 200 bucks though.

Thanks Eric, but I think this will do it. This new tensioner has about three times the pressure on the belt my stock one did. I see why the blown SRT Jeep guys like the aftermarket Dayco tensioners so much. I had a really hard time getting the belt on (Like when we tried to but Travis's belt back on). Its just starting to rain now but tomorrow I will make a few more WOT runs and report back.
