P0440-GENERAL EVAP SYSTEM FAILURE

Thats for a Dakota though. Not sure if you are looking at a code on your Ram, or if you have a Dak.

I believe it could be something as simple as a bad gas cap. Im not too sure though on how to diagnose an EVAP problem.

Check your lines running to tank etc. Check your charcoal canister and the gas cap. Sometimes if it's loose it will throw a code.

Usually a failure in the gas tank seal. Check your gas cap first off.

Here you go.

I've had that code pop up as well as some other evap codes plus my odometer keeps telling me my has cap is loose. truck is still running fine I think it may just be a bad sensor haven't really looked to closely. but I have checked all my lines to the gas tank and haven't found anything

I know the A/C is not working at all ... could that be the cause of a vacum leak error if it had a leak?
