Remote start stopped working -#%@!
Well, since a couple of weeks ago my remote start stopped working and i asked her "why you don't want to start ? ". Well i said to my self " self? we need to check this the old fashion way" I checked all the doors one by one pressing the button and did not start, then finally checked the hood pin, i pressed the pin down with my finger, pressed the button and guess what ? "SHE'S ALIVE". Now i am sure that the hood pin/switch thingy for the remote start is bad, i called my dealer and guess what ? The stupid switch is $58.00 . And the best part is that my warranty ran out in may!!. So, i need to get the part number to see if i can find cheaper on the internet somewhere! Sorry for the rant but $58.00 for that is crazy!!!

Jkeaton, it was an option for any truck without a factory alarm. They factory alarm and remote start were not compatible with eachother. You can set up a remote start on your truck easily if you have the key fob already. Its about $60 for the remote start, and $190 for the installation package from most mopar dealers.

Just go with an aftermarket Viper or Python 2-way system and disable the factory alarm. Just my .02, but the factory alarm is going to be worthless compared to a correctly installed aftermarket system. The sensativity will be better and more accurate, and you will be able to be notified within a half mile+ with information like whether the doors are locked, engine running, vehical moving, alarm, and what triggered the alarm. But a aftermarket system installed with those options will run you $500. Its where my tax return is going when I get it next year.
