perhaps sixshooter, you could take a few lessons in diplomacy...you have rubbed me the wrong way numerous times with your condescending replies to my questions. we are all here to learn, share experiences and have fun, not knock someone because of their perceived lack of skills, knowledge, etc. If you have a better way of doing something, there are better methods to get that out there than making someone feel they are less of a person than you because they might not know it. Take a step back and look at what you have posted and see it from the receivers point of view...damn, you remind me of frenchy in his last days...lighten up dude.

GOODLUCK
Thanks again for your help Jose. I haven't had time to work on it since my post about having trouble finding the ignition harness. You said, "its the main harness the wires are bigger gauge (thicker) follow the wire harness from the right side of the column," but I don't see any thicker gauge wires under the dash. The only thicker wires I see are all blue and I can tell they don't have anything to do with the ignition. Do I need to take the rest of the dash apart? I have only removed the cover under the steering wheel and over the steering column.

The last 3 installs I did were on older cars so they just had the thicker gauge ignition wires connected directly to the ignition lock cylinder.

I liked ur first post b4 u edited it better, lol but u said it correctly, he is very condescending and he thinks the only way is his way. I certainly don't install remote starters for a living but I am more than capable of doing it with a little research (hence why I started this thread). If I didn't have that type of "can-do" attitude in life, I definitely wouldn't be working such a great technical job today (don't worry, I don't work on cars).

Default Window sticker placement?

I'm making progress on installing my Viper alarm/remote starter. I was going to put the Viper stickers on the windows but I noticed that there's some writing on the windows (shown below) in the bottom right corner where I would like to put the stickers. Is there a way to remove that writing? Or where else do u think I should put the stickers?

Doubtful, I believe its etched into the glass...

Maybe place it on the rear driver's side extended cab window?

I will hold the sticker up against the window to it to see how it looks but the rear window is tinted so I don't think it will show through very well. I suppose I could just put it above, or next to the etching, or maybe even in the front (by the mirror) but I don't think it will look as good there.

my front windshield is tinted 8inches from the top and then I put a autopage sticker right under it on the driver side (because all my windows are tinted black)

I installed the alarm a while ago and it's been working great but I haven't really looked into the remote start part until yesterday. I have a few questions.

1.) Does anyone know of a t-harness for our trucks? I haven't been able to find one.

2.) I originally didn't think I needed a bypass kit but now I think I do after probing all the wires cuz I couldn't find a specific acc or a starter wire. What would you recommend for a bypass? The XK09 and DB-ALL from xpresskit.com seem like they might work. What's the difference between the two?

man i missed this thread, poop

when i had my remote starter installed by a shop full of professionals (one guy with about 30 years experience in this kind of field) he told me that the dakota is one of the hardest trucks to install it on. and my moms 07 dakota was nightmare. they said in lay-mens terms that the wiring harness is a mess and dodge really did a sloppy job on it. now coming from a guy i know and trust, i cant doubt him. so best of luck.

i had a to have a by pass put in my truck, idk what kind. But good luck with that. im sure a by pass is a by pass.
