Why I'm so worried about the rear sagging when towing. I saw a 3rd Gen Dakota towing a tent trailer the other day. The pair made a pretty good 'V' going down the road...

Yep. Air bags are going on my rig as soon as I can. I like level towing.

Has anyone ever considered a weight distribution hitch if they have that much weight on the tongue that causes sag? Its not necessarily the trucks fault if the trailer isnt loaded correctly where all the weights in the front, etc

Just saying... my trailer weighs 1000lbs by itself and my bike weighs 700+lbs and when its loaded in the front of the trailer, I havent had any sag and I figure there has to be around 500lbs or more on the tongue loaded, creating a lever action...which would act heavier and it doesnt sag.. I am not leveled either so maybe that helps?

I love my Dak! She's a sexy beast! And yes she's white also. The only thing i hate about it, like everyone else is that there are no suspension lifts for her!!!!!

Nice, yeah my dad uses that one on his toy hauler and it works awesome. I just see everyone asking about bags, and no one ever mentions the hitch

Seriously? I think those folding milk crates are the dumbest thing about my Dakota. Even my '92 Dakota had under seat storage, but nowhere to hide anything in the '09.

A few other things I dislike and think Dodge could have done better at;
- The passenger side airbag cover does not fit the dash properly. A hole is visible,and have seen the same mis-fit on other Dakotas.
- Head room is shrinking each generation, but this is the same as the Ram. Actually, some Rams I have sat in might be worse.
- The Yes Essentials upholstery I think it's called, sucks. It shows more marks and stains after 1 year than either of my previous Dakotas showed after 5.

- No Mopar support. Come on Chrysler, build some accessories. Even the 2nd generation Dakota had more accessories available. (This bugs me the most, because I work for Chrysler! and willing to spend my hard earned money.)

edit Now I'm finding that it's even difficult to get aftermarket parts for the '09. No Magnaflow or MBRP dual exhaust kits, no Superchip.

and with the airbag location i think they did a swell job with placement in my 08 trx very much like my 92 i had with the flat spot on the passenger side to put stuff....as my 98 i had heck there was nothin.

head room....as long as its close im happy(as long as my forearm can fit straight up and down in the sill thats close enough)-as for all the generations of dakotas
