Default Alternator is dying

Well, it looks like I have another casualty. After 102,000 miles it looks like my alternator is dying. I tested it today and its putting out 60amps vs the 136 its supposed to. My new 160 amp alternator will be Friday.

It looks like the same 136 amp alternator is found on the 3.7s as well. I wouldn't mind picking a 160amp...not that the HHR fan is on.

I don't know about the 08s. There are a lot of performance parts that will work on our trucks but we can't find them by looking for i.e. 07 Dakota Q/C 3.7L, lol. If I can ever get my hands on an 08 4.7L engine, I will be able to tell you about what kind of goodies out there will work on it. Almost anything electrical I can find a math just like my MAP sensor, or my SVT injectors or this alternator. The stuff is out there we just have to know what to look for.

Thank you brother. If I'm ever down that way it would be my pleasure.
