The shop just called and says there is no signs of a vacuum leak after looking for it and the EGR is working properly.

This thing pisses me off. What else can cause a high idle? Am I the first person to have this problem while trying to install a bigger throttle body? Sorry for my anger.

Any chance you could send back the TB and get a different one from Fastman?
I think you have done due diligence!

The only thing is I had a ported and polished tb from bwdakrt and it did the same thing. I sold it as is to jusjay and its working fine on his truck.

I'm not sure if I have internal gasket issues or if I should get the pcm reflashed. I'm going to verify that the temp sensor is reading correct, but I think it would be giving more problems related to a rich mixture.

So a pcm flash would be $90. Anyone think the problem is completly computer related and the truck just can't relearn idle?

So for coolant temperature sensors, how many do we have?

I know there is a temp sensor on the top of the engine in front of the intake manifold. Are there two other temp sensors some where for coolant?

Talked to my buddy today, his temp sensor was not the issue with his idle issues, he just lumped it all together as "the BAD sensors Mopar has".

I had my PCM flashed "on the side" aka "after hours"
I did not notice a difference in the idle problem I had.....MAP fixed everything.
Wish you were closer, I'd try the TB on my 2005, and switch out sensors with ya..

I have to get Eimer up here. Lol.

I wish Autozone had a smoke tester I could rent. I was really disappointed with the shop I went to today. They insisted the problem resides in the TB and all they did was charge me $80 to see if there were any codes ..... and I told them there was no codes being thrown. I told them find the vacuum leak, and all they did was check the PCM.

Thanks for the input though Hammond. I was looking at sensors today and found something that seems off, so Jkeaton is going to check to see what his reads to see if it could be causing my problem. A faulty temp sensor can cause the fuel mixture to be too rich and also cause a sluggish and rough idle. The coolant sensor in front of the intake manifold reads properly at ~200 degrees. Then I have two sensors, both named EngCool C and one reads 95 degrees C (203 degees F when converted) and that sensors temp will get cooler as I let the truck sit, but then the other sensor was stuck at -64 degrees C (-83 degrees F when converted) for the hour I let the truck cool off. If this is an actual sensor, that would mean there was a fault in it and why its reading so cold. For example, if you unplug your engine temp or intake air temp sensor, both will automatically read -40 degrees F by default.

So now I have to figure out if there are 2 coolant sensors on the engine somewhere. All I can find is info on the temp sensor on top though.

UPDATE: The temps sensors are reading normal. Ill keep looking for something else I guess.

The next two Sundays I work, but the next one I have off. You may be able to get a fastman installed on your truck depending on how angry I am by then. Lol. We do need to meet up though and take a cruise with the trucks.

Im looking at the brake booster as the next culprit. Good news is I can "test" if that is where the vacuum leak is coming from before I buy anything. Tonight on the way home from school though, the idle gave me no problems. Maybe my PCM is learning it, but I wont keep my hopes up.

Have you tried spraying starting fluid or carb cleaner around where you might think the leak is well it is running? If there is a vacuum leak then the starting fluid will increase your idle and the carb cleaner will decrease it. Also it could be your throttle position sensor, if it went completely out then it would throw a code but if the spring inside went bad then the sensor would not throw a code because it is working but it will not return back to 0% for idle.
