Anyone know how much power the expect from the 08+ manifold swap and if its a direct replacement?

 

It is a direct replacement, but you will need the throttle body adapter plate which will run you about as much as the manifold costs. Youll also need an EGR delete, and a custom tune done with an SCT. Youre looking at about $1000 if you install it yourself. (An SCT and tune will run you $400+)

Im not sure about power gains on this though

 

i thought only jeeps needed the egr delete...

 

My appologies, it was only for the Jeeps. I just saw 2006+ 4.7ls when I was looking at it a while back.

You would probably still want to get an SCT for tuning reasons to get the most out of your intake, and remove the EGR regardless. Who needs emissions

I wonder how much the intake would help someone with stock 4.7l heads though. I know the 2008+ engine changed with semi-hemi heads and 2 spark plugs per head. This mod may be useless if there is restriction after the manifold in the 2005-2007 engines. Then again, Nick is getting some serous power out of his 02 4.7l Ram with his Sullivan intake.

 

i'm still comptemplating seeing if its possible to switch the top end from a 08+ 4.7 to an 05-07. that would solve any restriction problems.

 

Alot of stuff did change between 07 and 08; http://www.allpar.com/mopar/47.html (Sidenote: Something scary I saw on this site. It mentions 6k RPMs as the max, when Superchips allows you to go up to 6,300k .... Theres no power past the stock 5,800 for me anyways, just mentioning)

You may be better off just dropping an 08 4.7l from a wrecked Dakota in your truck, but then you should just go for the Hemi.

 

I thought the sct tune was more like $700ish (tuner+tune) not $400?

 

$469 from Airram with self tune capability and a base tune.

Not sure how much Hemifever charges if you want to go that route.
