Who has flipped their tie rods?
So, I have heard of a few of you that have flipped your outer tie rods to reduce the strain after installing a leveling kit. I'm considering new struts this winter...which will lead me to sell the 1.5" TM kit, and aquiring the 2" Daystar leveling kit. My initial reaction is that this will put more angle on the outer tie rods...therefor, I might as well flip them while Im in there.
Those of you that have done it, how bad was the alignment off when you took it in? Do we just flip the outers, or both?

Unless you're also changing the the mounting points and therefore angles of the control arms, all you will do is induce bump steer.
In a properly designed front suspension the tierods are usually on a very similar angle to the lower control arms, to keep bump steer to a minimum.
Adding a leveling kit and the flipping the tierod ends will make those angles VERY different.
If my mind's eye is correct, you would get toe in under compression and toe out under droop.

They make a flip kit for jeeps, I am curious if the tapper is the same

Nobody's used that "tierod flip kit" on a Dak, because we don't have a drag link steering set-up.
On the Jeep that that kit is to be used on, it doesn't change the geometry at all.
In a drag link set-up, the steering box attaches to only one steering knuckle, there is then a single link that runs from that steering knuckle, across the the front of the solid axle to the other steering knuckle.

I got the Daystar leveling kit for about 2 years and i did not change anything on the front end. I changed the sway bar links after the passenger side went bad but i can't tell you if it was caused by the levelihg kit or not. Other than that, no problems what so ever. I'm very happy with it. GOOD LUCK!!
