Default What is new on the CB front?

The other day I dusted off my decades old Radio Shack CB and used it on a trip. Not much radio traffic I must say. I am wondering if there is anything new on this front? Have they come out with shorter antennas because it kept hitting stuff.

I know new CBs and scanners have several frequencies buried within frequencies for better luck in finding an empty channel. And if youre looking to scan emergency channels, youll need one capable of scanning multiple channels. The best antenna I know of to date for a pickup truck are dual 8ft whips mounted behind the cab.

not many use CB's anymore in this day of cell phones..... I still have mine but, like you, last time I used it there was very little chatter, even on the interstate with lots of truckers.

A lot of drivers are running on VHF or something like that to many 4wheelers cluttering up the airways I to have a cb in my truck occasionally I'll puck up some chatter but not much may be time to upgrade the ol radio
