2011 Dakotas?
From pickuptrucks.com:
"Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the new Ram brand, says Dakota pickup production will end by 2011. "It's the natural end of the Dakota's lifecycle," Diaz said. "It competes in a shrinking segment. We need to figure out if we can build a smaller, more efficient vehicle that people can use for play and light-duty work. It also has to be more affordable than the current Dakota."
Diaz said many Dakota buyers find themselves in the dilemma of buying either a Dakota or a Ram 1500 half-ton because both trucks cross into the other's price range but the half-ton Ram is more capable.
What might replace Dakota? It would likely be a unibody truck that could ride on a Fiat platform.
The Dakota's sales performance has rapidly declined during the past few years. Last month, only 515 units were sold and year-to-date sales are down by 58%."

Stupid move but the numbers dont lie.
I noticed the msrp on the 2010 model has droped on my model about $6-7000 on the website.
2010 slt 4x4 is about $27,900 and my truck new was $35,000
if dodge rolls out one of those things, like the prototypes above, even anything close to that i would sell my dodge and never look back. trucks are getting less like trucks every year and more like cars. it's sad. more trucks on the road have never even seen a trailer or come close to maxing out their payload. I wish i could see 5-10 years out to see the "trucks" these companies are turning out. back-up cameras and all the BS. Just cuz you have the money for a truck doesn't mean you should have it.
sorry for my rant but this has been on my mind for awhile.
