Default Audio Upgrade

I picked up a 07 SLT crew cab a few weeks ago and I'm liking it a lot now that the dealer got a few things straightened out.
I want to upgrade the standard factory audio mostly because it's my work truck and I spend a lot of time on the phone with customers and I need bluetooth hands free because of local driving laws and I also want a better sound system.
I picked up this used JVC head unit off craigslist http://www.crutchfield.com/S-p2adLQt...l-KD-A815.html

Questions: where would be a good place to mount the bluetooth mic and run the wire so it's not exposed?
What door speakers would you recommend upgrading to?
I have an old rockford punch 400a4 amp that I had in my 98 Ram. It was set-up to drive the rear speakers and the sub. I'm thinking about adding a sub sometime down the road in the dakota. Should I use the sub and just drive the rear speakers for now? thanks

For the mic i would mount it on the rearview mirror because my momo has a 08 grand cherokee with u-connect and thats where her mic is mounted. For the door speaker i would recomend hertz audio i have a set in my front doors and they sound great.

here's a picture from a few weeks ago before I got the new tires.

This is my first time working with car audio so I want to confirm a few things. I bought the wire harness adapter shown in the picture. The head unit I bought was previously installed in a honda so I would need to cut all wires coming from the radio connector and resolder wires onto the dakota adapter. Then find a 12V always on source such as cig. lighter for the red wire of the adapter.
What do you guys think about adding the amp I have for powering the rear speakers and possibly sub.

jkeaton:why are you going with 5.25" speakers and not 6.5"
rugger226: how would you hide the cable up to the mirror? I'll look into the hertz audio speakers.

Welcome BC! Nice Truck.

I want to change my deck as well so I have bluetooth but dodge has to make everything so complicated with this U-connect system.

Will a U-connect deck work in my truck event though I dont have it? and do I need the deck and the remote??

Sorry , not trying to hijack just seemed like a good place to ask the question, tell me to shut up and I will start my own thread. lol.

That adapter has a constant 12V wire in it, no need to go fishing elsewhere.

I would power the front speakers with the amp, and not the rears, if it is a choice. The rears should only be used to add some ambiance, and not pull the sound stage to the rear of the vehicle. Rear speakers should be used for some fill, to help give the illusion that the vehicle is louder.

When you have more power to the rear speakers it will pull teh sound stage to th erear and seem like you are standing with your back to the stage. Would you actually go to a concert and stand with your back to the stage?

Most of my vehicles have not had any rear speakers installed, just some front components, and sub(s).
