hey i was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for an 05 Dakota 4.7L V8. I'm putting in a water temp gauge and i need to know where i can piggyback the sender wire from the current gauge in the dash

Hey brother, I'm glad to see you excepted my invitation to the forum. We have the 05 Dakota Service Manual in our FAQ all you have to do is download it. The stock water temp sensor is under the MAP sensor on the front of the intake manifold. Let me know if you need installing that HHR fan.

What you are looking for is called the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor or ECT. Number 3 is what you are looking for.


You want to tap into tap into #1 to monitor ECT sensor signal.

Thanks for the help. I'll post up some pics of the finished product once a bondo and fiberglass my gauge pods. i bought a universal dual gauge pod for the A pillar and im gonna cut the handle off, put the pod over it, bondo and fiberglass it, then hopefully find a paint from Duplicolor that matches the other pillar. should come out good cus ive made a few fiberglass sub boxes for friends before. Then ill order up the HHR Fan and SPAL controller. Hopefully ill have the HO cams and springs next month if the Army acually pays me for once.
