Default 2005 or 2007?

I'm deciding between a 2005 Quad Cab SLT V8 4x4 with a price tag of 15,000 and 53,000 miles and a 2007 Quad Cab ST v8 4x4 with the same price of 15,000 and it has 87,000 miles. I'm inclined to go with the '07 because it's newer but it also has 30k more miles on it. Are there any huge advantages between the two? The '05 is also the SLT as opposed to the ST so there are some advantages there. Thanks for the help.

I love the 05 but the 07 might have some better goodies. Does the 07 have a VIN of "N" or "J" could be an 4.7L HO. Check the rear diffs or 10 bolts or 12 bolts as the 12 bolt is the 9.25 rear and that is the one you want.

I posted this a few days ago before I understood how this forum worked so I have also already posted this in the 3rd Gen forum as well. Sorry to confuse you guys and post twice! I promise this won't happen again. A complete rookie mistake! I ended up purchasing the '05 due to lesser miles, better price and more upgrades such as power windows, doors, ect. as well as a lot of others.

I did check my rear diff and it has twelve bolts so is that the same with the '05?Do I have the 9.25? Also how do you know if you have the HO engine and what transmission you have? Curious if it's the 4 speed or 5? If I'm asking questions that are in other threads I'm not offended if you yell at me and post the link!

Thanks for all the help, this forum is amazing!!! I'll be putting pictures up when I get back from the snow tomorrow!!

You are correct, it is the 8th position of your VIN.

N=Not High output.

J= High output.
