I've never needed weight in the back, our trucks handle great in the snow, good tires are key.
If you're on the stock Goodyears those things are awful even in the rain, nevermind the snow.

NICE!!! reminds me of when I was in Japan, but not that much snow only about an average of 140" a year
When was at school at Northern Michigan University we got hit with 44" of snow in 36 hours. I know your pain up in Canada

Hey thanks cramerica and rengnath, good info and totally makes sense. Actually, found a guy today on craigslist with a set of BFG T/A KO's, almost brand new and full tread, didnt get a price yet (negotiations havent started yet) but he told me he really needs money, which only helps me haggle more, so hopefully I can get a good deal. I agree with what you said about height and width, but I've heard for all terrain tires they are real good in the snow. Thing is the size is LT215/70/R16, which I don't think is compatible with my stock rims, but I was planning on gettin a set of cheap rims off craigslist that they would fit on. Question is, other than the rim having a matching hole pattern, is there a specific range on depth, width and height that you have to stick to for safety, or as long as it fits is it ok?
