IMO, if it was something important, you wouldve gotten an error code. Throw the capacitor on the shelf just incase, but Im guessing it was just there by mistake. Because the mounting bracket is all rusted, it has been there for some time. If it was bolted on to something, the mounting bracket would be clean and rust free around the hole where the bolt covered it. Just thinking about it logically. I wouldnt lose sleep over it.

lol yeah so if you get in an accident and it doesn't deploy cause that sensors not there you need to delete this post and sue dodge! lol

Default I know where it goes

I replaced the right head gasket on my 2006 durango and took the part off the back of the right head...... i think. I left it in the wiring harness and now cant find out where it mounts too. It is on the wiring harness up against the firewall right at the back of the head. If anyone can tell me where it mounts now, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Dont know much about Durango's, perhaps the Durango section can help.
