I don't think it would be to hard. The diff attaches to both motor mounts. I've been thinking of getting some junk yard motor mounts and taking them to a machine shop to see what they can do. Then use some front shocks from a Tacoma and cut off the lower mounts and weld on Dakota mounts. I think that would give about 3" of lift with Tacoma coils. Good luck, do it!!

I think Rancho's kit for 2nd gen Dakota diff drop would work. You'd have to buy it out separate if you could find it. I thought about just haven't done it

First order of business is to look how it mounts to the truck. It may be as simple as fabricating up a few spacer pucks and buying longer bolts. It could also be much more then that.

Look at the installation instructions here and go to page 6 and 7. If you notice in the pics the mounting of the diff in the 2nd gen looks identical to ours. Those brackets even look like what we'd need.

Sounds like it might work. I've recently started to try to figure out a front suspension lift and was either thinking of making a 2nd gen kit work or modifying pieces from a tacoma kit. Do the 2nd gen upper arms leveling kit allow the steering knuckle to sit lower and maintain the ball joint angle?

I'm new to this site and haven't worked too much on the suspension so correct me if I'm wrong:

For a front suspension lift, all I need to do is
-drop the lower control arms (using a drop bracket)
-drop the differential (and correct the cv angle)
-either extend the steering knuckle to be taller OR drop/lower the upper control arms
-replace coil over with a longer coil over OR drop the upper mount for the coil over (preferably replace the coil over to allow for more travel)

Like I said, I'm new to this so go easy on me if I messed something up!
