Haha. Everything I've done to my truck started out as an innocent question about something....

Just thought of this today, if the rattle is from inside the exhaust, your cats might have fell apart. They have a emissions warranty of 100,000 or 120,000 miles.

Welcome to the forum! Are you sure is the exhaust that has the rattle? Did you checked the sway bar links? Maybe they are shot and they rattle!! JMHO!!

For the rattle, end up better possibly getting a system and be a nice rumble for the lifting ur 2 wheel drive u can get thee 2,5 in the front if u want. u dont have to worry about Cv shafts. for your rear deff get new leafs im looking for the future of getting the 2500 leafs off my buddys truck and put em on the dakota, ehhehe. and deff check your control arms, specially the top ones mine were bad and didn't know it. the salt can get in there, and as i see ur 25 mins away from me so u know how much salt they can throw around down here lol.

I've had the truck for 4 years now...I just have to get up the money to do everything I want to do to the truck. Isn't that always the way lol Thanks for all the welcomes. I've actually had the forum account for a while. I originally was looking for suggestions on how to fit a sub box under the back seats. Anyone with a 3rd gen knows there ain't a lot of room underneath the back seat. Oh yea, it's a quad cab. Any ideas?

Behind the back seat. You will loose the ability to put the bottom of the seat up, but you'll have a sub. If you do the drivers side, I know all you have to do is remove 2 torx screws and the back of the seat will lift out. I know thats where Eric and a few others have their subs, and this is where the MTX Thunderform is made to fit.

Welcome to DF. I am running 2500 leafs in my truck. IDK know how much higher it sits, don't have another Dak to compare stock height with. lol. As for your rattle, I would check heat shield.
