mitsuraider, what do you have done? I'm probably around the same numbers as you currently. I have a flashpaq, mech fan delete, and intake right now, will be doing exhaust soon, and possibly making long tubes. Also am currently working on a good ram air setup and will be putting my converter in this spring. The flashpaq is supposed to add I think 23hp and 35lbft peak on the 93 tune, so that's about 310hp + 23hp + say maybe 5-10hp for intake and mech fan. Total = ~340hp and ~370lbft. Should be about 260-270hp to the wheels. I would like to hit 400hp (over 300 at the wheels), I don't know many other mods to do though other than what I listed, staying NA, and think I'm going to come short at around 375hp. I wish there were cam options. I bet your truck is pretty fast, mine's in a quad cab ram and mine is fairly quick.

I know this is an old thread, but those numbers really are disappointing. Makes me wish I was able to get a hold of the '07 I was originally looking at for half the price. In addition to that, I too have wondered what can be done to improve low end. Top end is amazing, but how often do you need top end? I do more city driving than anything. Not to mention the fact that low end is where the fun is at.

Looks like both of you have a better start with the 08+ motor, I'm pretty sure you can have stock cams re-ground to at least an HO equivalent, maybe 206. The automatic steals a lot of the power, a shiftkit could help bring some more of that power to the wheels, or at least keep you from losing mementum during shifts.

Remember, mitsuraiders motor started at 235 crank, and a stock motor dynoed at 180 on a good day. Almost 100 HP with a turbo is decent enough, hopefully dyno tuning brings it close to that or better. Then it's time for forged internals and dialing up the boost! Or swapping to a hemi+ forged+ more boost+ as I think is his plan if the 4.7 dies.

so many debates, 4.7 with a stage 3 tranny, or a 6.4 hemi with a stage 3 54

One thing to keep in mind is that all dynos read difference, some can be very optimistic and some understate.

Also, the 545rfe trans is robs a lot of power. Stock 3rd gen Hemi Rams are rated at 345hp and typically dyno at 250 rwhp.

yeah stock 4th gen hemi's are rated at 390hp and most are dynoing at right around 300rwhp give or take about 15hp. The dyno's I've seen of the 08+ 4.7L rams with superchips 91 tune are aroudn 250rwhp give or take about 15hp. My 2010 quad cab ram with 3.55's, superchips 93 tune, and intake is faster than my friends old 05 hemi quad cab with 3.92(stock).

The pre 2008 4.7L is a good motor, but it doesn't have a lot of hp, it doesn't really go fast, at least not in stock form, it is basically a "truck" engine. The newer 4.7L is a little more hp happy. I don't see any reason someone couldn't put down 300 rwhp on a dyno with the newer 4.7L with basic mods like intake, tune, exhaust, long tubes, mech fan delete, and maybe cams. I should be around 275rwhp with all of that except cams. And I wish I had a manual trans..... I don't even know if they made the newer trucks with a manual for the 4.7L?

Frenic, I've been wondering about ordering a stock set of cams and doing custom grind, but after everything else is done...
