Been there, done that. Here's the thread where we tried just about everything. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...stalled-6.html

Yeah, the only things that I havent replaced that could be causing the high idle are the O2 sensors which is very doubtful, because it would most likely cause the high idle with the stock throttle body or set a code.

Like Kent said, Im not the only one to have a problem. Most people have only brought it up once or twice because no one knows a solution. If you do a search, there are a few out there that have signs of the same idle problem. Snipingdude traded his Dakota in, but before he did he had the same problem that I do but could never figure it out. I would buy a F&B but I really dont want to buy a 400 piece of aluminum and then have the same exact problem.

The IAC can compensate for a great amount of error. I can have the throttle blade propped open about 3/16" before the idle actually rises. You just have to adjust it with the engine off, and when you restart, the idle will be where it should be.

I tried one that BwDakrt had.

Apparently the guy I bought it from had problems with it, and then I bought it not knowing about them. I sold it to jusjay and he said it hasnt given him any problems on his ram.

i expect dan to use the same methoed to bore out the 3g tb's as he does the 2g like mine. essentially thoes stock tbs are the same "i think". the only thing that i can think of is with the pcm the jtec vs the 4plugs you have. who knows.

if they are the same tb;s someone needs to try the BBK tb. its for 2gens but it might swap to the 3gens. its cheaper than the fb by 100 bucks.
or get a hipotek tb.
