so with the trailmaster kit at full travel you would flex your balljoints less because it slightly restricts travel.

Whereas with any top of strut kit you don't restrict anything so therefore putting more flex on ball joints at full travel.

correct. the inside strut leveling kit will max out the shock (im pretty sure they have internal limiting bumps) before anything else binds...not saying this is good but puts less stress on the joints...but then again. the joints can take more beating than the inside of a shock.

the on top of strut kit will give you more travel...(better for 2wd guys) as we dont have problems with cv angles or anything. I have 2wd and i would prefer my extra 2" of droop travel.

I think if the biggest obstacle I encounter is a pothole, I should not have issues with overextending my suspension to the point where the balljoints or tie rods/drive shafts are in jeopardy.

yes in your case you wont run into problems. alot of these leveling kit companies dont anticipate anyone going off road lol. i opted for the on top because ive gotten front tires off the road and i dont wanna chance internal shock failure.

but this project im working will contain limit straps and hydraulic bump stops

So putting the kit inside the strut can cause internal shock failure?

I believe you would be ok with the tm if yours is a road queen like mine. I'm going with the daystar, your might be a little stiffer with the ranchos plus the in the coil spacer.

chances are you wont break anything because im sure the shock have an internal stop that keeps them from over extending. i would just rather put the stress on the joints instead of the shock because the joints can take alot more than a shock can. neither kit compresses the coil itself so you wont find a stiffer ride with either. an aftermarket shock like a rancho with make it a little stiffer. but the only thing that truely stiffens a ride is a naked girl...woops sorry got sidetracked....is a stiffer coil spring or and adjustable coil spring where you can tighten the preload.

I think Ill just give the spacers to the shop and tell them to suprise me. Lol. Or tell them to do each side different .... Ill see which one fails first. jk
