Been trying to understand the installation of these leveling kits but run into two different installation scenarios: One I have read (Trailmaster, I believe) installation requires disassembling the strut from the coil, requiring a coil compressor and the spacer goes on top of the coil and it's all put back together, strut/coil/spacer, all one unit. The other type (Daystar) you remove the strut/coil assy as a whole and the spacer fits on top of this assy, does not require disassembly of the strut/coil. Whats the real deal? Seems like one would actually add height to the strut while the other just compresses the coil.
Mine sits right on top of the strut nice and snug, it was fairly easy with the directions, dont mine the salt lol she needs as bath.... LevelingKit.jpg
By installing in the spacer, it is supposed to solve the problem of binding cv shafts when offroading. That is why tm used to instruct that it should go on top of the strut, and now they instruct to install it in the strut.

I don't go offroading so I'm not too too worried about that or should I? I only drive it for regular use so I'm assuming not a lot of damage could be done
I dont see how installing it in the strutt would make a diffrnece i have the daystar and i think it would be a royal pain in the @ss if you had to take apart the strutt assy
So for a mainly street driven truck it would be ok to go with just putting the spacer on top of the strut assy? The trailmaster is just a solid ring, the daystar has holes for the existing strut tower bolts as well as new bolts, so it sits on top. What brand is yours o8xdakota?
