Default Electrostatic Discharge!!

Hi:

I'm very tired, of get an electrostatic discharge every time I get out of my truck! It occurs when I'm already out and touch the door to close it, I can even see the spark and hear the noise.

It happened to me before with a 2001 Toyota Corolla, a Physic Professor told me, touch the metal while you're getting out, and believe me its works... no noise, no spark no nothing..

But now I can hug the entire truck and this fu....g discharge again, men it hurts..I'm really upset and I don't know what to do..

Does any body can tel me why is this happened? What I can do to resolve it?

Thanks

Victor

Maybe stop touching yourself at night and you wont build up the charge LOL JK. I am not a physics person, but I assume its the nature of the truck not being grounded to anything.

Its dry out which increases static electricity...

Try this:

Just go to Wall-Mart and in the same place they sell the laundry soap they should sell some cans of static guard. Spray down everything that has cloth on it then spray some febreze over it because it doesn't smell the greatest.

Now this is going way old school, but back in the day cop cars used to use grounding straps that kept the static from interfering with the radios.
