sort of. but then you run into finding square tube with the right OD to fit in between the mounts. plus it takes away from the cool "fab" look with the welds. and i think solid sqaure looks kinda cheese and it wouldnt have the polygon slopes on the bottom. the frame brackets are 2.93 apart so even 3 inch square tubing will need to be hammered up in there. mine slid right up perfectly

next up is a tubular cross engine brace that attaches to the coil hats on both sides. or continue working on my control arms...idk. i kinda like whipping out these overnight projects. long travel takes along time. im almost a year deep on that ****.

 

LOL i prefer grinding down a 3x4 square tubbing to 2,93 thick...I prefer the cheese look for less $$$ :P But you it only cost you time, beer , metal and fun adjusting your TIG!

and about the ''cool fab look'' if you ever show me a picture of your truck flying in the air and we can have a close up look to your custom fab cross member i will keep my mouth shut about this :P hahahaha

 

theres nothing wrong with keeping it cheap. lol. but take a look at alot of camburg, blitzkrieg, ballistic, type stuff.... everything is welded and left raw. thats the look IM going for. yall can do whatever look you want. the "style" of prerunners and trophy trucks is to build the 2x4 out of plate instead of having one solid 2x4. its all opinion. i doubt structural integrity has any different effect. and also like i said. the 2 slopes on the bottom. i used one piece and bent formed it. youd have to add metal to a 2x4 to make that look. unless you just want it straight across i guess.
