The Tahoe Hybrid has a simple 4 inch bumper skirt on it that deflects a lot of air away from the under carriage. I don't know how much MPG it gave them but they did it for that reason alone.. so it must have helped enough to justify the addition.

Yeah, my idea behind the poly sheet is that it is flexible and durable. don't know how much it would weight in at though. At 1/8" it can't be much. Really, if it's tough enough, 1/16 would be plenty. If I build a chin spoiler out of it, I would want it to be able to bend as well, so that's one the requirements.

Also, looking at that tahoe hybrid brought another thing to my mind: side skirts. Or, in my case, side steps. The fiberglass kind that go from front to back. Anyone know of these for our truck?

A flexible poly sheet? Look in industrial roofing!

Anyways, up to 15.7 this last tank, and that's with me being late for work - driving 80 mph this morning - and having a LOT of tools in the back of the truck for half the week.
Warm weather is STARTING to hit us, so i think it's the main reason for the increase right now. Even so, I'm sure 16+ is going to be easy peasy.

You keep your wife in the garage?

In all seriousness though about all I can think of is make sure your tires are a hard compound and relatively non-aggressive tread for mileage (assuming you can get away with this). Staying smaller in diameter won't hurt either, I lost ~1mpg when I put my 31" ATs on. The Superchips tuner might help as well, unfortunately I can't provide insight on that since I haven't been able to keep my foot out of it since getting the thing.

Yes... wife stays in garage... errrrrrrrr her car.
Tires are new, and supposedly decent for mileage.
Also, my cousin has a hypertech for his ram that may work for my truck, so i may end up buying that off of him if I decide I like it and all...

My averages have been in the 16 to 17 MPG range. It’s fallen to as low as 14 (In town stop and go driving) to my highest two weeks ago of 20 (All Freeway at 70 with Cruise Control).

I am running duals from the “Y”, Fat tires and my home made CAI.

I am a firm believer that you’re MPG’s are directly related to your driving habits and the right foot.

best way that I've found to maximize gas mileage is to take the motorcycle

or if the wife cries and wants to be included, the lez-baru
