Default Factory Uconnect addition possible??

I have an 05 Dakota with an 06 AM/FM CD Aux stereo with no uconnect, no satellite (REF I think). I have a plain rearview mirror with no buttons.

Is is possible to add Uconnect to my truck by adding a Uconnect mirror, Uconnect module and wiring harness? If so, what part numbers would I need or what comparable vehicles could I salvage parts from to make this work?

The Uconnect system integrates with the radio so you may need to change that too. I know you can add Uconnect to the MyGIGs, I had looked into doing it at one point.

MyGIG is a pricey upgrade. Just saw eBay ones for almost 1000 used. Is that right?

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm not looking to add MyGig at this time nor did I want to add the "Mopar Aftermarket Uconnect."

After spending the weekend searching the net and reading over technical manuals I think it can be done. Now all I have to do is aquire the parts and begin the install. Splicing and dicing of wires should be fun.

I'll keep you updated as to how I make out.

IIRC the wiring in partially there. When you get the mirror get the wiring harness that goes to the passenger A post. There is a plug that it connects to. Also get all the wiring associated with the Uconnect module. I dont think that there is any splicing per se involved if you get the completed harnesses. I do believe that you will have to go the the dealer and have the pcm flashed to show that the uconnect is installed.

If you just want Bluetooth access to your phone, I recommend looking at the Motorola Motoroka T505 http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US...mitter-US-EN-2

Another nice feature of the Moto T505 is, if your cell phone/MP3 Player is A2DP Bluetooth compatible you can stream music through the T505 to your Radio.

I use the Jabra CRUISER, pretty much the same as the Moto T505, everyone says they can hear me better then through the phone. The A2DP compatible thing is nice for listening to music wireless. Only issue I have is that when you live in a city environment, it is hard to find a frequency that is not used.
